FUN FACTS: The invention of the corn dog is highly disputed – while a US Patent for covering meats and other foods impaled on sticks with batter and frying them was filed in 1927, various vendors and restauranteurs ranging from Texas to Minnesota and Illinois to California all claim to be the “first” purveyor of corn dogs between the years of 1937 and 1946.
